American Healthcare Investors Hires EVP of Asset Management

American Healthcare Investors, an Irvine, California-based commercial real estate investment firm that specializes in the management and acquisition of health care-related properties, recently hired Wendie Newman to serve as the company’s executive vice president, asset management.

In her new position, Newman will oversee the firm’s nationwide portfolio of medical office buildings, totaling 7.6 million square feet across 189 buildings.

Prior to joining American Healthcare Investors, Newman worked at Lillibridge Healthcare Services— Ventas’ (NYSE: VTR) wholly owned medical office affiliate—where she oversaw the company’s medical office building properties in the Western United States.

CBRE Hires New Medical Office Project Manager in Jacksonville, Florida

CBRE Group Inc. (NYSE: CBG) recently hired Lester Del Rosario as a project manager in Jacksonville, Florida, the Jacksonville Business Journal reported.

Del Rosario, who previously worked as a senior project manager of planning, design and construction for Ascension Health, has managed more than $125 million of medical office and acute care projects throughout his career.

“Lester has a strong track record of high-level medical facility projects and we’re delighted to have him join our team, especially in light of the tremendous Jacksonville health care sector outlook for 2017,” Stewart Green, project management lead for CBRE’s Jacksonville office, said in a statement.

KTGY Architecture + Planning Hires Architect in Chicago

Manish Shah was recently hired as an executive director of architecture at KTGY Architecture + Planning‘s Chicago/Midwest office. Shah, who has 20 years of experience, was brought on board to work on the company’s national health care designs, and to lead KTGY’s expansion in the Midwest heading into 2017, REJournals.com reported.

“Manish has extensive experience in the design of health care facilities, which represents one of the most in-demand sectors of commercial real estate,” Craig Pryde, AIA, LEED AP, principal at KTGY Architecture + Planning’s Chicago/Midwest office, said in a statement. “We’re excited to leverage Manish’s creativity and knowledge as we continue to expand this practice.”

Shah joined KTGY from BSA LifeStructures, where he worked as a Chicago-based director of architecture. Shah was previously employed by Chicago-based OWP/P Inc., where he worked on the design and construction of Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital.

“Health care design is one of the most rapidly evolving industries and has an enormous impact on our communities,” Shah said in a statement. “Drawing on my experience in designing both newly constructed and renovated facilities, including those that have undergone an expansion, I’m excited to join a team that shares my curiosity and commitment to elevating the experience for medical providers and the patients they serve.”

Flagship Healthcare Properties Names New SVP of Development

Charlotte, North Carolina-based commercial real estate firm Flagship Healthcare Properties, LLC recently hired Devereaux “Dev” Gregg as senior vice president of development, effective Jan. 9, 2017.

Gregg previously served as SVP for Development Services at Cogdell Spencer, Inc. and Erdman Company where he planned, financed, and leased 32 health care projects totaling more than 2 million square feet and $420 million in cost, including in-patient hospitals, ambulatory buildings and related parking structures.

In his new role at Flagship, Dev will lead the development department in maximizing the value and performance of the company’s development service line, while formulating and implementing best practices for a long-range development team strategy and the company’s ongoing growth.

Cushman & Wakefield Hires Senior Director, Managing Director in Phoenix

Ryan O’Connor and Sheila Bale recently joined Cushman & Wakefield’s Phoenix office as senior director and managing director in the office health care division, respectively, according to AZ Big Media. Both of the new hires previously worked for Newmark Grubb Knight Frank.

As managing director, Bale will specialize in the sales, marketing and leasing of office and medical space for the team. As senior director, O’Connor will concentrate on tenant and landlord representation of office properties.
